Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite artists are: RÜFÜS, Cut Copy, Bob Moses, Little Dragon, and Booka Shade. I am a House head of the Deep variety and also gravitate toward Indie. Hopefully we can share music!

Master and Commander is my favorite movie of all time. I try to stay away from television, but there are some series I make an exception for. That being said, reading is the best food for the mind. I lean toward Fantasy but am looking to broaden my horizon. I'd love to hear what your favorite books are : ]

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once jumped into a riptide unknowingly while drunk. By the time I escaped the current, I was out to sea. The waves were massive so I dove under them to avoid being pulverized. Most of the heat was leeched out of my body incredibly fast.

With my sights on shore I swam as fast as I could, fighting the pull of the ocean with each stroke. After what seemed like hours, I reached an area where two swells cancelled themselves out. I threw my numb and lifeless arms in front of me. I vividly remember thinking to myself, "if I don't hit shore in a few minutes, I'm going to die." I dug deep with everything I had and eventually made it back to the sand. Thank god I played water polo in high school!

When I reached land, the friends I had been camping with wrapped me in the thickest blanket we had. Everyone was in a state of disbelief, including me. My male friends repeated stunned sentiments while the girls cried. I had been trying to get back to solid ground for about thirty minutes, most of the time swimming at an all-out sprint. After recovering from hypothermia, I gained a new respect for the ocean. It was an unforgettable lesson and my stupidity amazes me to this day
