About Me
Update March 2019:
Just about to go on a solo trip to Cabo Verde - I would be pleased to meet any friendly CSers over there! I will fly to Mindelo and then figure out where I’ll go from there... excited!
Update (again) May 2018:
I never did get around to using CS on my 2016 trip to Scandinavia as I met so many brilliant people so quickly I simply didn’t have time. Since then I’ve been mostly in India, Senegal and Turkey... but now...!
I am in the Seychelles - so perhaps this is the opportunity to meet some interesting people also wandering these beautiful islands!
Update June 2016:
I thought I'd leave my existing info below, as it's all still true! But 2 years have now passed and I'm now thinking of trying a bit of Couchsurfing again this summer (I didn't quite get it organized last time!)
Since 2014, I've been pretty much consistently on the road, with two long trips to India this year and last year, as well as a road trip around Europe last summer, adventures in Indonesia and Sri Lanka - and a good bit of exploring the UK too!
It's now 17th June, and in a couple of days I'm going to drive off in my van - destination: The Arctic Circle! I'll probably be on the road for a couple of months and hope to see loads of Scandinavia at a beautiful summery time of year. I'm heading to Forest Star festival in Sweden and Midnight Sun festival in Norway - but other than that, the road is open and anything can and will happen! I'd like to contact friendly people in this part of the world in the hope of finding some beautiful gems and connecting with the people as well as the place. May the adventures begin..! Thanks in advance, Couchsurfers...
2014 TRIP
Travelling Europe this summer - so far: Sweden/France/Spain/Portugal - Boom festival! - currently in Spain looking to avoid the English weather a while longer
ABOUT ME
After many years of procrastinating and meeting people who had good things to say about Couchsurfing, I thought it was about time I joined up and got to see for myself what it was all about. My first passion in life is to travel, and while I've ended up at the houses of Couchsurfers and Couchsurfers have ended up at my house, it has always been through meeting people on the road rather than through the site.
Me, I grew up in Cornwall, moved to London to study - English Literature and Film - and have spent the years since then living my life in London, working on various events, film events and film festivals along the way and enjoying life, and travelling the world as much as possible. I'll add to this profile with time, this is just a little introduction.
PHILOSOPHY
...see Interests...and well, I'm definitely one to enjoy today and to try get on with doing the things I want to do rather than let them be postponed to a distant and unsure future but with some attention paid to setting a course for me to sail in the future to try and make sure I end up in a good place and not aimlessly drifting!
'Today... I will stop saying 'If I have time for..', I will never find time, If I want time, I will take it.'
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met lots of couchsurfers who have all had good things to say about the experience. I've stayed with couchsurfers and couchsurfers have stayed with me, but only by meeting them on the road, rather than through this website.
Interests
Travel (obviously), film, music...blah blah blah a long list the same as everyone else has written but I suppose the most relevant for here is that I'm interested in seeing how people live. We can get all too easily caught up in the way we are living at any particular moment and not be able to see outside of that and therefore feel like our options in life are restricted to how things can be imagined at that moment - travel helps me to break free of that and therefore live more freely by learning about different ways of living - they may be alternative or conventional but differ depending on where I am.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my most memorable travelling experiences is the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia - I went there in 2007 and it was spectacular!
Teach, Learn, Share
Always happy to help people with their English, and always pleased to (try and) learn new languages, or bits of them!
