About Me

I'm super friendly, clean, adventurous and a great cook!

I graduated from the University of Washington back in 2010. I took about 7 months off traveling and living out a few of my dreams. The ski bum dream, living up in the Mountains teaching part time ski/snowboard lessons to kids on the weekends and exploring my local mountains during the week. Then my surf bum dream, buying a 1 way ticket to Costa Rica and a surfboard and spending a month and a half attempting to surf. And finally my climbing bum dream, converting our family mini van into a camper and traveling up and down the west coast with my best friend in search of new areas to rock climb.

I started my corporate life after that, spending the last 3 and a half years selling robots and living down in Southern California. I was bit hard by the travel bug and I couldn't shake it. So I left my job just before the holidays to travel for the next year or so. Wahooo!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I fell in love with traveling while studying abroad in Spain. Everything was new and exciting...the culture, the language, the people, the fiestas and the siestas. However, the most memorable part were the people we met, their hospitality and the local adventures they took us on.

After I returned, we opened our college house up to visiting exchange students and it was incredible to share our home town with them and teach them about our culture while learning about theirs.

Since then, I've reunited with many of those friends all around the US and the world and made many more. I've had a revolving couch at my place Newport Beach, CA the last 3 years and it's been a blast. My favorite way to travel is experiencing places as a local and with locals, which is why I joined Couchsurfing.

Interests

I love all outdoor activities...surfing, climbing, hiking, camping, yoga, sports, etc... I enjoy meeting new people and will try just about anything. I'm crazy about food too and would be happy to show off my mediocre cooking skill for you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I led a hiking trip up with 4 good friends to the top of Mt. Witney, the tallest mountain in the US at 14,500 ft. We all made it to the summit together despite freezing temperatures, altitude sickness and that 3 of them had never even been on an overnight hiking trip before. When they completed the climb, they said it was one of the "most amazing things they've ever done". That was pretty special!
