Hey, I'm Alex! I am a classical flutist and music teacher studying for my Masters degree in Michigan, USA. I grew up in Washington State, where I learned to love the natural world and gained a sense of adventure. I'm new to couchsurfing but I hope to surf and host in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because others have said it's an awesome experience and told me I should try it! I enjoy meeting new people and visiting new places, but I haven't had the funds to travel for fun until this last year. I hope Couchsurfing will provide me with a way to expand my experience when visiting new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like any music that is well-made. Punk, experimental, bluegrass, and classical are probably my favorites, but I don't have a deep knowledge of any genre besides classical. I like fantasy/sci-fi books, especially the work of Neil Gaiman. My favorite recent book is probably Good Omens, although I doubt I could pick one book out of all the ones I've read.
