Overview
About Me
Well, It is more about the both of us! My name is Alex and my lovely partner is Amanda. We are both living in Green Bay, Wisconsin in the United States and have been here since we started out University degrees. Amanda is a full time artist and received her bachelors degree in the Fine Arts and I am a Multimedia Developer and Photographer that received my degree in Mathematics and the Fine Arts.
I currently work at an advertising agency and at my place of work I do websites, commercial photography, commercial video, and Marketing techniques for business. On the other hand, Amanda currently works at a Jewelry store and is an amazing salesperson, she knows everything there is to know about precious stones and Diamonds.
While we both have day jobs, our true passion lies within the arts. Everything that we do is to not only better ourselves, but to give back to the community through the form of what we love to do. Whether it be painting, photography, software development, design, or advertising we want to be joyful with those around us and give them the ability to do so as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We want to meet people, experience new things, and connect with the locals wherever we go. In June, we are both quitting our jobs and starting a business together, but while this happens, we are going to travel around the world together. We figured the best way to meet locals and connect with people on a deeper level would be to use Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge fan of music, and so is Amanda. We can say that we have collected over 600 records. We have multiple sections of records on our shelves, but a few of our favorite sections are the 70s and the 90's to 2016. To name a few of our favorite bands, they are:
-The Carpenters
-Mac Demarco
-Twin Peaks
-Action Bronson
-David Bowie
-Cheap Trick
-Cyndi Lauper
-Wavves
-Childish Gambino
-Jimi Hendrix
-Tame Impala
-Grimes
-Big Narstie
-King Tuff
-King Krule
-Trash Talk
In summary, we like many different kinds of music and are open to hear new sounds and fall in love with a new band or genre. Music is the basis for all creativity in people.
Apart from our record collection, we do have a small library as well. We collect odd books from past decades and exhibition books from photographers and artists. We have many photography books and some of our favorites are:
John Baldessari: John Baldessari,
Stefan Sagmeister: Thing I Have Learned In My Life So Far,
David Bowie: David Bowie is Inside,
Mike Brodie: A Period of Juvenile Prosperity,
Larry Sultan: Here and Home,
Sandro Miller: The Malkovich Sessions,
Estevan Oriol: LA Portraits,
Peter Beste: Houston Rap,
Those are just a few of our favorite books, but just like records, we are always looking to collect more exhibition books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I (Alex) consider learning a fine art and mathematics an amazing feat, and to top it all off I paid for school by working hard and earning every bit of it (University is super expensive in the united States!).
I (Amanda) have successfully put on many art shows. Learning what it takes to be a professional artist is quite the daunting task, but I have done it! I love working hard on multiple pieces of art for long periods of time and then seeing a show come together successfully!
