Hello, my name is Alex.

I am traveling photographer and videographer, who wants to help create a sustainable future and travel the world, making new friends from across different cultures.

As of October 2023, I am traveling around Iceland- if I messaged you, let's meet up!

Since I began my journey, I have been fortunate enough to host some of the friends I've met on here, although the website doesn't reflect it. My goal is to host for the long-term once I've found a new place to call home!

Some other notable things about me:

I have been a vegetarian for most of my life. I find gardening relaxing and incredibly rewarding. I have a deep love for music and discovering new artists. I enjoy foraging for mushrooms. I also enjoy rock collecting on occasion. I have a fondness for cooking and learning new recipes from people. I am always taking nature trips and have a special place in my heart for the Pacific Northwest. I have a fascination with history, geology, and anything to do with the universe. I find meditation to be a powerful and effective tool for handling day-to-day life (even if I occasionally forget to take the time). I am easy-going dude just trying to find my way.

An important priority for me this year is to meet entrepreneurs, artists, activists, and other ambitious people.

- Create work that is rewarding and that I am passionate about.
- Find ways to promote causes that matter a great deal to me.
- Collaborate with others on building artistic, social, or community concepts.
- Meet other photographers who have successfully run their own business or are looking for business partners.

- Host other travelers on Couchsurfing and give back to a community that has done so much for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being able to meet people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures is truly amazing and one of my favorite aspects of this community. This community allows you to experience traveling to other places much more intimately and memorable. I have made countless friends from this community over the years.

Interests

So more than anything, my interests are in my photography work. Fine art, conceptual work, to portraiture and nature. I try to consistently shoot photos during my travel, and spend a good deal editing, and building business clientele. I also love other artistic mediums, and the incredible creative folk who make them. Discovering new music, learning what others like, is one of my favorite things to do. I also am fairly lowkey-spiritual about my coffee habit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Have had my photography published in magazines.
- Bought a one-way ticket to Europe.
- Managed to pet at least one dog per day for months on end.
- Survived a 3 hour boat tour without peeing myself.
- Not taking myself too seriously for at least a week.
