ABOUT ME

My name is Alex and I am currently trying to find my way through college. Photography is my passion and currently one of my favorite things to do on trips. I am looking to go to some amazing places and experiences and capture those moments.

I enjoy art, music, abandoned or unknown niche places (one example is an amazing abandoned meat packing plant in STL that is an awesome exploration), and local businesses.

Most of what I hope to get out of couchsurfing is to visit new and interesting places and hopefully new friends.

PHILOSOPHY

To do what I love to do. That is the main thing that keeps me through school and to keep me going through those tough days. The sacrifices I have made so far and the hard work I put in will hopefully pay off.

Interests

My main interest is photography. I am currently in college for photography but looking to switch to engineering or communications (still have no idea what I want to do). I enjoy almost any style of music and enjoy going to live shows.

My second interest that challenges me is journalism and reporting. I love the interview aspect of reporting and especially human interest pieces. I like to get to know the person as if we had been friends for life.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book series of all time is the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks and my favor book would have to be City of Thieves by David Benioff.

The best duo of all time is Matt and Kim, and some of my favorite people. Their concerts are always a great time and you leave there feeling so excited and exhausted.

As for movies and music, I really enjoy something done well. Whether it is rock or classical, comedy or drama, I will listen/watch it if it is done well and can hold my attention.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I can help with really any art related thing. I know Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and I would love to be able to get together with other artists and share ideas.

Learn - I want to learn to take life less seriously and just meet some great people. I've always been taught the "school, work, die" method and have not really enjoyed the little things yet.

Share- I want to share a great experience with some old and new friends and create moments that any of us can share forever.
