About Me
Hey there,
I'm Alex, 20 y.o., grew up in Germany, but have lived in France for the last two years as part of my studies. Come September I'll be in Chicago to finish up my degree, and who knows where after that. I study social sciences with a focus on political science and law as fields and Europe-Asia as a region. Aside from that I'm very much into the arts (all, but particularly cinema, fine arts, and music), as well travelling, sports, geography, and a couple of other things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I thought I'd use the opportunity to make some new intriguing experiences while travelling, while also giving people the chance to visit my home town, should a tourist ever dare to set foot on such a non-touristic place.

Music, Movies, and Books
Listening to all kinds of genres, but particularly classical, jazz, prog, alternative, some electro, etc.
Favorite book is 'Master and Margarita' by Bulgakov, although Hesse's 'Siddhartha', Thomas Mann's "Mario and the Magician' and a couple others are up there.
Movies: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 12 Angry Men, Princess Mononoke, Seven Samurai, Persona, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I won second place at a European quiz tournament as a high schooler while competing solo against full teams of 3 to 4 people. It was pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach some French, English, German and maybe a tad of Spanish. Can teach some stuff about political science, arts, and general culture too I suppose.
Would like to learn about anything that's worth learning about and that people have a passion in.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good talks and company, some basic cooking skills, love and appreciation.
