Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Alex.
I'm a music teacher, bartender, and world traveler based in Seattle Washington.
I'm a very open minded person, interested in meeting people from all across the country as I travel.
I'm often in new cities searching for open mic nights, pinball arcades, craft breweries, board game and tabletop meetups, and gorgeous bike paths.
I'm usually carrying a music instrument with me when I travel. I love making cocktails too; a perk of having a bartender surfing on your couch could definitely be a tasty drink or two!
I identify as a feminist, so if you're not down with smashing the patriarchy, I don't think we'd get along too well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've traveled before using other methods of finding lodging, and I truly missed the human connection of sharing a space with another person. I love learning about peoples' experiences in cities that are unfamiliar to me. It's the ultimate point of travelling for me.
I'm hoping to find hosts/travelers that are open to conversation, exchanging recommendations and share stories about each others travels.
Interests
I have a wide variety of interests; from the outdoorsy and athletic to the introverted and nerdy.
I'm a music teacher primarily, and am always looking for humans to play music with, trade guitar riffs, to improv with, and to visit concerts with.
I'm a big nerd, currently running a Dungeons & Dragons campaign!
I'm an avid bike rider.
I've got a continuously growing list of podcasts to listen to.
I could geek out about my favorite comics for hours on end. (Saga, anyone?)
I also love experimenting with mixing drinks, and finding new and exciting spins on classic cocktails.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading: Hillbilly Elegy by JD Vance, and Saga by Brian K Vaughan
Favorite TV lately: Adventure Time, Game of Thrones, The Eric Andre Show.
Favorite movies: I'm not a huge movie fan. It takes a lot to get me to sit still for an hour and a half at a time.
Favorite video games: Binding of Isaac, Skyrim, Stardew Valley, Civilization V
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent two and a half months backpacking through Europe last year. It was a life changing experience, visiting 9 countries and learning so much about the Scandinavian countries.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can provide a polite, friendly, low-impact stay in your home. I'm a very tidy person when I'm sharing space with others.
As I mentioned above, I usually have an instrument on hand. I'd be happy to share a bit of music with my host!
I'm interested in exploring breweries around the country, and would love to take my host out for a beer (or three).
