Sobre mí

I am a carpenter working full time building homes with Habitat for Humanity in Durham, NC. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Construction Management and Sustainable Building Systems in 2017 where I also taught swing dance lessons every monday to a group of students on campus.

I have a long list of experiences, from working as a wrangler in New Mexico taking care of 300+ horses for a summer with 28 other wranglers, to building and maintaining several hundred miles of trail in the southern Rocky Mountains one summer, to remodeling a beautiful log cabin the mountains of North Caroline. But most recently I have been working in the Carribean for several years working for two different disaster relief non-profits rebuilding homes that were hit by a hurricane.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

All I ever want to do is meet new people. Couchsurfing cultivates an amazing community full of people who are willing to open their homes up to strangers, and that's a community I want to be a part of. I have experienced the beauty than can come out of a supportive and loving community through dancing, and I want to share that feeling with people everywhere. I do a ton of traveling for dance and for leisure and I haven't paid for housing in years thanks to the kindness of people and I now have friends and connections all over the United States and a few in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Peru.

Música, películas y libros

Bluegrass and indie folk are my favorite styles of music, but I listen to a lot.
The Shack is my favorite book, followed closely by Desert Solitare and Where the Red Fern Grows. My favorite author is a preacher named Nadia Boltz-Weber
Favorite movie is one you've never heard of called Band Slam, but Footloose and The Lego Movie are tied for second.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I won the Wild Horse Race event at the nations oldest running rodeo in Cimarron, NM

Enseña, aprende, comparte

my goal is to teach everyone I meet how to swing dance. I'm also pretty good at acro yoga, slack lining, and juggling. If you have ever been interested in learning weird random and largely useless talents, I'm your guy : D

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can teach 3 different styles of swing dancing, acro yoga, and how to play the ukulele. I can also teach you how to juggle and slack line, maybe at the same time if you're good enough. On top of that, I thrive on life stories, good company, good music, and good food.
