About Me

Hi,

here is Alex from Munich, Germany.

I'm thinking that I am a nice and open-minded guy who likes to help others.

Moreover, I like to make new experiences.
While my bachelor thesis in Freiburg, I learn how to snowboard and ski.
Of course, it was at first quite difficult to handle these new drive methods, but after one day it was just amazing riding over the snow. These were one of the best days in my life and I do not want to miss them.

The next thing I would like to do is indoor skydiving, where you fly on a turbine.
When you would like to do this as well, just write me a message.

I am an discoverer.
The Dark side of the Moon is my ultimate destination. (Actually I am programming for the German NASA a robot, which should explore this area.)

Next month, I will start working with Brain-Computer-Interfaces.

I like also going to concerts. The last concert I have been, was Linkin Park.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like couchsurfing because:
* it is a more personal travelling
* you get to know so many great people all around the globe
* I am very interested in the new cultures and people
* it is a simple way to find a sleeping place
* I would like to meet new people

Interests

The countryside is the place I like to be. There I can relax from my daily routine.
I enjoy the time cycling with friends through nature and forests.

Moreover, I am playing Ultimate Frisbee in a team.
Ultimate Frisbee is a sport with a lot of running and it is based on the principles of fairness.

Since my road trip through Croatia, I am into diving.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading science-fiction books. Especially stories about space and / or time travelling are fascinating.... ;-D

When it comes to movies or series I go along with intelligent plots.
Some examples: StarTrek (all of them), Password Swordfish, District 9, Elysium, The Machine, The Man from Earth

Some series I like to watch:
The Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, Games of Thrones, The Walking Dead

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Difficult question.... what is in your eyes amazing? It differs who you ask.

I have been at the 11.11.2011 at 11:11:11 o'clock in Cologne for carnival.
That was amazing.....in my eyes of course! A lot of crazy (but super friendly) people, who just want to party and having a great time with you.

Once, I have taking part in a snow shoe trip on a mountain.
Due to fast changing weather conditions, I wasn't sure what I will expect on the top. It was a stiff climb, but also very funny. By every step you take it could happen that you fall with your whole body in a snow hole. ;-D
On the top of the mountain, it happened what needed for sure to happen.
Fog and a strong storm approach. It was so intense that you could see the leader of your snow shoe trip or any other participants. On top of that, the wind made the walking for everyone very hard. Instead to try to see some guys, I rely on my ears trying to identify anybody out of the crazy storm noises.
After a while, the storm and the fog disappeared. Due to the ice crystals and the intense wind my face looked like if I just woke up from cryogenic sleep.
However, it was really funny and interesting to feel the power of mother nature.

Speaking about "intense storms" I also have got to tell this story:
I always wanted to learn how to surf on the water, therefore I went with a group of other guys to the Region of Brittany in France. Due to the mild climate, we thought it would be the perfect place to learn windsurfing as beginners. On the first day, our surf teacher predicted that it would be a perfect day with a constant weak wind. Five hours later he had to change his mind. An intense storm approaches and it was difficult to stay on the surfboard.
However, I managed to get my sail out of the water and to surf my first meters.
It was a great feeling after all!!!
