I think it's a good way to meet people and really get the culture and vibe of the place you are visiting. On top of that, you can make lifelong friends along the way.

Interests

I really enjoy architecture and cuisine when travelling. Knowing something about the history of the place Im visiting is one of the main things I research before getting to a place. On top of that, Ill do my best to replicate the local expressions, being a linguist has its perks.
