About Me
Update March 2022
I will be traveling in France April 4-12. Chamonix from April 4-8, Paris from April 8-12. I do not need a place (couch) to stay, but would enjoy meeting up with local people for a coffee, or to break bread (share a meal), or just learn about local goings on.
August 2015 I just signed up for couchsurfing.com.
I am a big fan of the concept of hosting travelers for free, having bicycled solo, across Europe 15 years ago, and staying with people through Servas (http://www.servas.org/). I would much rather get to know locals than stay in a hotel. :)
I live in a very cute but small 2 bedroom 1 bath house in Lafayette, CA (which is 30 minutes by train from downtown San Francisco and 15 minutes by train from downtown Oakland/Berkeley). I will post photos soon. The Lafayette BART station is 5-7 minutes walking from my house.
I have two sons (ages 9 & 10) who are with my part time. Their room has a double bunk bed which is available for visitors.
I also have a very friendly dog (a yellow lab named "Sunny") so you would have to be comfortable with big dogs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I get along with people who are curious and adventurous, interested in the world outside of their local 'bubble.'
I have been very fortunate to encounter people all over the world who have generously welcomed me into their life (even if only for a brief period) and I enjoy reciprocating.

To get to know people while traveling and to host interesting people who are traveling in the (too) expensive SF Bay area.
