About Me

I am from Russia and I like my country with all bear/vodka/matryoshka stuff (kind of disappointed in it's politics though)
I don't like people who are influenced by mass-media and jump to some conclusions after watching news or reading a newspaper. Don't forget that we live in the world, which is ruled by a group of people.
That's why I like to travel and to talk to people, to share my views and to listen to yours. Who knows more about a country if not the people of this country?

For 4 yeras by now I have been living in Germany in a small university town called Tübingen. It has a lot of students (around 30 000 people).
I am usually occupied with my studies ( I graduated from University Tübingen with a master's degree for linguistics, right now I am studying masters for computational Linguistics) but when I have my free time I try to jog. I feel euphoria while jogging, especially when I can feel the wind and my favorite music is playing in my headphones.

I also work as a teacher in an international class. In my class I have children from all around the world like Greece, Bulgaria, Syria, Somalia and so on. I help these children to learn German so they can continue their studies in Germany. I do learn a lot of stuff from them, about their cultures, about their characters, the way they grow. I really enjoy this job :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's an amazing way to share your hospitality and meet some interesting people. I want to know more about this world!

Interests

Hmm.. I am growing tomatoes and herbs on my balcony. Can it be called an interest?
I usually pick up leaves from the trees in foreign countries, then I dry them up and glue into my herbarium book. Most of these leaves are from different German towns, also France and Greece. I hope to collect more of them!

I also try to watch many movies from different alternative and pop directors. My boyfriend is PhD for film studies, so sometimes we argue about the films and the references that we found. I think I have already watched all the films from the top-lists and right now are looking for new unexpected ones to surprise me!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Radiohead, Ottis Redding, Nina Simone, Blur, Massive Attack, Portishead, Bob Dylan, BBNG, Leonard Cohen

MOVIES
I am not inspired by nowadays cinematography, that's why movies I watch are movies from the cannes film festival. They are unique and usually not trivial. When I watch them I can feel a real life, and I don't see these actors or actresses which can be seen everywhere!

BOOKS
At this time of globalization and mass media I prefer to read books ( sometimes I even take part in so called "bookwormchallenges" where you have to read one book per week, otherwise you will be punished (put a colander on your head in public transport? why not! or to be slapped with a herring on your face? I have a video on my instagram if someone is interested! :D )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped off a moving train....Yep! I did.
It wasn't my train, so I didn't know what else to do except jumping. By that time it seemed to be the best idea ever :D
3 hours after I thought my leg was broken, cause it hurt badly, but everything was fine

Teach, Learn, Share

As I already mentioned, I teach children in a special international class starting 2018. I think since that time I leraned a lot about Middle East, Arabia and also East European Countries because the most children in my class come from these countries. When you work with people from different background, it can realle expand your horizants. I am looking forword to continue my learning.
