About Me

I recently returned to Australia after teaching English in a small town in Japan for 3 years. I have also taught English in China. I'm an easy-going person and I love travelling. I have traveled extensively through Asia and Africa and through parts of Europe and the USA. I love meeting new people and having new experiences. I'm always interested to find out people's point of view about things. Other interests of mine include hiking, reading and a Japanese martial art called kendo.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have done a lot of traveling and have spent a lot of time in hostels. After I moved to Japan a friend of mine recommended I start using couchsurfing. Now I really regret I didn't start using it earlier! It's sooo much better spending time with local people! It really is the best way to experience a place. So from now on, whenever I'm traveling, I plan to try to find CS hosts. I also really enjoyed hosting people at my place in Japan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked to the top of an active volcano in the Afar Desert in Ethiopia, one of the hottest places on Earth. We arrived at the top around midnight and spent about an hour gazing into the top of the volcano. Amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about my country and the countries I have visited and lived in. I'm very interested in other cultures. The main reason I'm on couchsurfing is to spend time with local people and learn about their country. I want to share experiences, laughter and hopefully create some long-lasting memories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an easy-going person and I love travelling. I have traveled quite a lot so I have many stories to share. Although I enjoy my alone time, when I'm with other people I talk quite a lot haha. I'm looking to make connections with people all over the world.
