Although seeing new places is great, meeting new people is one of the best things about travelling anywhere. It's one thing to see somewhere, and another thing to get to know people, and make friends I won't forget. South-eastern Turkey was my first time travelling on my own, after which I explored Thailand, Laos and Cambodia for four months, and then Lebanon and Iraqi Kurdistan.

Turkey was my favourite country to visit, particularly the east because there I met so many kind and interesting people. These experiences are what travel is all about for me.
