About Me

My name is Alex. I grew up in the «city of a million roses» Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.
Since childhood I was fond of folk dancing. At the age of 16 years I traveled to Sicily (Italy) with the concert tour with my dance group.
I got a master's degree in mechanical engineering at the Donetsk National Technical University. Part of my education passed in Technical University Hamburg Harburg (Germany). I lived in Hamburg for 6 months.
It was the most wonderful part of my studying. I not only was able to gain new knowledge, but also became acquainted with the lifestyle and traditions of the German students.

I work in the field of heavy engineering in a company producing heavy equipment for mining (underground and open-pit).

I`m married. Me and my wife are together for 8 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Me and my wife are going in Eurotrip. We want to visit different countries, stopping in each no more than 1-2 nights to see the sights and meet the locals.

Interests

I root for Shahtar Donetsk football team and enjoy watching Champions League and Europa League. Also I play football and volleyball with my friends every weekend.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read science fiction, to look at the night sky and dream about other worlds.
My favorite writer - Harry Harrison. First science fiction book that I read is Harry Harrison - "Deathworld", and it is my favorite one.
Also, I love electronic music and watch sitcoms with my wife.
