Hello! My name is Alex and I'm using this summer as a break to travel abroad in Europe between my work as a mechanical engineer and graduate school in Utah, USA for an advanced degree in mechanical engineering. I'm an avid outdoorsman, on a regular day in Utah you can find me hang gliding, paragliding, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, kayaking or rock climbing.

I plan on touring a bit of the U.K. on the way south to France where I hope to spend most of June and July soaking in the local language and culture while regaining my fluency :)

I'm trying to stretch my savings as far as they can go before I have to buy a ticket back to the states. I love good conversation and meeting new people. Hopefully I can meet some new and interesting folks while gaining the occasional friend, this is my first summer abroad so any travel tips (mainly rail and ride sharing) are extremely appreciated!

I can teach violin and piano, would love to work on my French and always enjoy learning more on the guitar or ukulele, I have traveled to almost all 50 US states, several foreign countries and always love to share my journeys in free flight (hang gliding and paragliding)! I love all things tech, and as an engineer I enjoy geeking out about any new trends in smart tech, movies, tv shows and video games.
