About Me
Hello!
I'm Alex and i'm a friendly native from Newcastle and love my hometown. Althought I have briefly lived in a couple of places I always knew that I would come back to this town I call home. I live in Heaton now, with my partner Sophie and doggo Reggie.
I love to travel and although we both work full time, we try to make the most of our annual leave and see as much of the world as possible and travel to some lesser known places. What's the best thing to do when you can't travel all the time? Hosting! If you are going to send me a surfing request, please read my home section.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had some great experiances on couchsurfing over the years. I've met some really incredible and interesting people and had some great days and nights out.
I'm on couchsurfing to share the places that I know best with others and try to show them the best that Newcaslte has to offer. I really like that idea that people will leave thinking that Newcastle was a great place to visit.
I think that we can all learn something from absolutely everyone that we meet, and I like hearing about other cultures and the way that different people all live life in different ways.

I listen to a lot of Drum and Bass, Funk/Soul both new and old with pletny of indie thrown in there too. Netsky, Dimesnion, 1991, Andy C, Sub Focus, Friction, Stevie Wonder, The Commodores, Smoove and Turrell, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Enemy..
I like films about sports and achievements like Rush, Blindside etc. And Tarantino films, pulp fiction and inglorious bastards. I watch a lot of thrillers and dystopian films too, both fiction and environmental doom merchant documentary films.
Books, I enjoyed Prisoners of Geography and China in Drag.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Kiminajaro and Kebnekaise, got stung by a sting ray and road tripped through the arcitc circle.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook and i've picked up a couple of recipes from surfers in the past that I still use today! I love hearing about peoples favourite foods from where they are from. I also volunteer at a cafe, working in the kitchen helping make delicious and interesting dishes from ingredients saved from going to waste.
I also like growing veggies. I have an allotment in jesmond dene. If you wanted to have a look round, come down to help out or could teach me anything to help with my novice vegetable growing then i'de love that.
