About Me

Agnostic, American-born Chinese (Taiwanese) nerd who had open-chest heart surgery five years ago, which changed my perspective on life and what's important. I can be optimistic to a fault and though not rich, I try to share any type of wealth I have with friends :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm clean, self-sufficient, and respectful of privacy, rules, and helping with chores. I'm a frequenter of youth hostels and really enjoy listening to and sharing stories, so I'd be down to chat and explore!

Interests

People watching, game design, laughing, DDR, ballroom dance, eating delicious food, getting lost, solving problems, talking to strangers, and well, turtles :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After recovering from health issues coupled with a pretty deep depression, my mom and I traveled through Spain, France, Italy, and the UK for 2 months. It was incredibly eye-opening and challenging to keep up with her and to me, well, from where I was before the trip to what we were doing during the trip - I felt renewed and confident again. I guess this isn't amazing in the universal sense, but to me, it was a tremendously difficult challenge to get out of the house and hold my chin off my chest again.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anything you want to know about the video game industry -- I've now worked on the AAA publisher side (Electronic Arts) and the indie scene (Humble Bundle).

I've tutored chess and math and been a teaching assistant for ballroom dance during college.

And share my dreams for rescuing mobile gaming from monetization schemes and the premise for a science fiction novel I'm writing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter! I'm filled with random stories. And, I have a constant "george carlin" perspective on life where I tend to observe what's going on from 10,000 feet. You'll get asked some odd questions that you're probably not used to, but hopefully enjoy where the conversation goes and the mental membrane stretching.
