ABOUT ME

I am an open, friendly guy that loves partying! I enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences so I'm up for doing almost anything. Including just chilling.

I also love natural beauty. Maybe it's because I'm from Cape Town. If I see a gorgeous sunset I have to take a picture.

For me it's the people that often make the experience and if you meet my friends you'll discover a very diverse range of people.

PHILOSOPHY

Hah! This is deep. I'd need to write a book to get it all down. Where to start?

I'm not religious though I'd say I'm spiritual. I think life is all about learning and growth. There's always more to learn and room for personal growth and you can learn something from everyone and everything. Sometimes you learn about the world, sometimes the person, sometimes yourself.

I think it's important to always try to lead a good life. Vague, yes, but then I think that's because there are many ways to do it.

Respect is important, both for people and the environment. Consideration and empathy follow.

Possibly most of all: have fun. Never work too hard or get too stressed that you stop being able to have fun. If you can't enjoy life, what the point?

I've hosted a couple of people at my place in SA. I've also been a bunch of couch surfing meetups and drinks events.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies and books tend to be escapism for me so in general I like light-hearted stuff.

For movie genres: action, comedy, romantic-comedy. Although I also like some arty stuff and documentaries. Just not too often ;) Gladiator, The Boondock Saints, The Matrix, Ip Man, Stardust, The Girl Next Door, Don't Mess With The Zohan, The Avengers...

For books, I mostly read Science Fiction or Fantasy. Although I also enjoy some philosophy, theoretical physics and dramatic fiction every now and then. Magician, The Book of Five Rings, The Celestine Prophecy, The Wheel of Time, The Blue Nowhere, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, The Chronicles of Morgaine.

Ah, and music, well, I like so many different types, from hard rock to trance to orchestral to pop... Some artists/bands I like: The xx, Queen, Phoenix, Lana Del Rey, Snoop Dogg, Mozart, System of a Down, Armin Van Buuren...

I should probably mention series I like too: Californication, The Big Bang Theory, The New Girl, Naruto Shippuuden.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't isolate one individual thing. The most amazing experiences of my life are probably not things I've done or seen, but people I've met and friends I've made.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've studied and taught Geomatics so I can probably teach you something about land surveying and GIS.

During my MBA I specialised in Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Strategy. I can probably help with any business ideas you might have.

I'm also very technologically inclined so I know a fair bit about computers and some things about programming.

I could also teach you how to make a fantastic mojito or caipirinha ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can braai with the best of them - that's South African barbeque for those that don't know my country. I like making thai food. I can teach you about South Africa. I can also be an all-night drinking and party buddy :D
