Overview
About Me
British, PhD in cat facts, training for origami black belt.
I hold the 2014 Guinness World Record for most giraffes juggled at one time. (Seventeen.)
Using only a paperclip and a bus ticket, I once liberated an entire South American country from a siege of squid.
Interests include: wandering, decent literature, mountains, and a combination of all three.
Much to my parents' horror, I somehow got into writing for a living and haven't starved yet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This is rather new to me. In New Zealand, I WWOOFed for a year (haven't heard of it? Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWOOF) and I think that was pretty much couchsurfing, but with food and work thrown in. It restored my faith in humans, and I'd quite to keep doing that sort of thing.
Interests
I never really stopped being fascinated with the size of the universe, or the fact that we seem to be very, very clever bits of carbon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I decided, one morning, to see if I could walk the length of New Zealand. Started at the bottom of the South Island, kept going. Got several thousand miles in before ending up in hospital. So that was eventful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a musician at heart, always have been. I'm happy to give lessons on the guitar, piano, accordion and trumpet.
Chocolate and beer is also shareable.
