About Me

I'm a graduate student and consultant on environmental issues, and writer on the side.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A couple years ago I spent two months traveling and one of the best parts was staying with a friend of a friend in Istanbul (thanks Izzet!) I got to talk local politics, see a less touristy part of the city, and make a new friend. I want to provide that kind of experience to other people, when I'm able, and also to do more of it while traveling.

Interests

I love to get outside. Right now I'm doing lots of backcountry skiing, swimming, and trail running. I also like to backpack, climb, bicycle, dive, draw, play soccer, play video games, and read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've free-soloed a couple peaks (climbed them without ropes)-- fun, and I was very happy to be alive afterwards :)
