About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit all 50 states of America

ABOUT ME

I decided to travel and become part of couch surfers after college because i knew that this organization spreads cultural understanding and is much more eco friendly than a hotel/motel.

I am now 27 years old starting a full time job in the events industry. I work as a decorator and an event technician. I am one to create a smooth ambiance for events, but would be willing to create a grand ambiance for my surfers.
I was in school 5 years ago and in my free time i study philosophy and environmental theory and practices which i love to discuss different ways to supporting sustainability mind sets. My mission is to live a sustainable life like i did when i lived in Cinderland Eco Village in Hawaii. I'm hoping to come across other people with my passion to share recipes, practical applications, and innovative ideas/ expressions to bring more people into the sustainability realm.

PHILOSOPHY

"Waste not, patience, and don't be careless with more than you're willing to loose unconditionally"

"If you want to go Fast, Go alone. If you want to go Far, Go together"

"awareness, empathy, responsibility"
"Zen Economics: Abundance, Value, Interest"

"Anything and everything is enabling and constraining, and the value of your resistance to one or the other is the importance of your individuality"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've now traveled all around the country, and when i do not camp or the weather isn't suitable; I've stayed with individuals on couch surfers. I wish to repay the favor and allow passing travelers a place to lay their head like others have done for me.

My mid twenties i budgeted my own travel because my job was flexible due to its seasonal disposition. Outside of wedding season i would travel in my car, and camp at national parks which is so revitalizing to the soul.

Interests

Music- instrumental and theory
Environmentalism
Philosophy
Cooking (if anyone has a recipe to share i would be more than interested to hear)
Cirque du soleil (the most universal cultural entertainment in the world)

Also I want to visit all 50 states of America. My original goal was to do such by 2013, but had to put that dream aside in order to support my friends i knew around me. Now I am only two states short which is Nabraska and Alaska. If anyone knows opportunities to going to these states i would appreciate it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie-drama's, historical pieces, some action, anything inbetween romance and horror. I'm not one for horror

Music- my classic timeless bands are Papadosia,MGMT, Lotus, Pink Floyd, and Dirty Heads. Dubstep has been a liking of mine for a few years as well because of the atmospheric activities going on. If you didn’t realize it’s very similar to most healing ceremonies of Native Americans. What could be more American than going to a dub step concert.

Books: Picture of Dorian Gray, The Island, Atlas Shrugged, Lone Wolf, Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenanc, and Dharma Bums. (very philosophical books)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-The blasting of Crazy horse memorial in Black hills Forest
-The amazing site of a Bull elk and Grizzly Bear too close for comfort in Yellow Stone
-Lived in an eco village in big island hawaii for a month
-traveled by train in the new england states
- participated in socials in Philadelphia when living in Manayunk
-Experienced Mardi Gras with my host in the french quarters

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy families because i like to be silly with kids and teach them things that i valued such as imagination, creative arts, and physical hands on engagement and experience. I'll be the first to admit that I'll never be as smart as a child in their future. If you can't beat em , mine as well give them a leg up

I am rather knowledgeable in the arts of philosophy
I'm rather handy when it comes to gardening technique and home improvements
I know various tools and literature that stress the importance of a sustainable mindset and lifestyle
