The smiths, lifter puller, the hold steady ... Any wes Anderson or nicolas cage movie (know that one can be controversial) ... Currently reading about the Spanish civil war. on the road and the great gatsby are obvious classics, and I'll read any scifi/ anything by Iain banks or Jon Ronson
