ABOUT ME

Born in San Diego, studied in Chicago, spent a combined three years working in New York and Copenhagen, and am now based in Dubai. I am a laid-back, open minded, and easy going guy with a passion for travel and meeting new people from around the world. I have just moved here so I can't say that I know all of the ins and outs of town just yet, but am willing to host and hang out with other surfers and together we can explore around town. I'm also hoping to be able to use this site to connect with locals to get a closer look into the Emirati culture and other subcultures that exist here.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to use this site as a cost free way to live around the world, and more importantly, meet local folks while on the road. Conversely when I'm not traveling I like to use it as a way to connect with other travelers visiting in either the place that I am currently living or in other places that I know well. I enjoy showing people around a place I know well and seeing their reactions to things for the first time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Aside from a free nights stay, I am most interested in using this as a way to connect with other travelers and locals wherever I go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Ran five marathons on three continents: San Diego (2011), Chicago (2012), and Paris (2013), Istanbul (2017), Copenhagen (2018)

- Rode on the back of a motorcycle with a cop through the streets of Delhi

- Hang glided over Rio de Janeiro

- Bungy jumped in Queenstown, NZ. The sport’s founding city

- Witnessed the induction of Pope Francis in St. Peter's Square.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn as much as I can from others of opposite culture, ethnicity and religion to mine. I am of the opinion that doing this helps one grow as a person and attain important awareness of the differences and similarities that unite and stand between people around the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company/conversation. Happy to hang out if schedules allow: grab food, coffee, tea, explore around town, etc.
