About Me

Born in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, currently travelling in Europe. I'm relaxed, fun, curious, spontaneous, active and positive. Just like most people here I love travelling and getting into new cultures and realities. I'm a vegetarian and I love hiking and hitchhiking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to connect with people from different cultures, learn from their experiences, and share my own. I believe in the power of travel to bring people together and create meaningful connections. It’s also a great way for me to learn about new places, traditions, and languages while offering my help whenever possible

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music includes Bossa Nova, especially Tom Jobim, and I’m a big fan of Leonard Cohen’s lyrics. My favorite director is Andrei Tarkovsky, whose films I find deeply fascinating. I also have a strong interest in poetry, both reading and writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled along the entire coast of Brazil, from the beautiful beaches in the Northeast to the lively scenery in the South. Along the way, I did volunteer work and helped with humanitarian projects, which gave me the chance to learn about local cultures and support communities in different regions. This experience changed me and showed me how helping and learning from others can make a journey truly special.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m passionate about music and love exchanging recommendations or discovering new local styles. I’m very interested in learning about the culture, language, and traditions of the places I visit, and I’m always open to good conversations and sharing travel stories. I’m also happy to help out around the house however I can!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hi! My name is Alex, and I’m a backpacker with a passion for exploring new cultures and places. I've been traveling for over a year, and during this time, I’ve had the chance to get involved in humanitarian projects—a long-time dream of mine. I work in various volunteer roles across different regions, which lets me learn from local communities while supporting projects that make a real impact.

What I love most about Couchsurfing is the opportunity to meet real people who bring the city to life in their own unique way. I enjoy meaningful conversations and am always eager to learn about what drives the people I meet along the way. In return, I'm happy to share stories, travel experiences, and even some tips on fundraising for those interested in social causes.

I also make an effort to be a respectful and responsible guest, appreciating the trust that hosts extend to me. So, if you're up for good company and sharing stories from the road, I'd love to join your routine for a few days. Thanks for reading, and maybe we’ll cross paths soon!
