About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn as much as possible about myself and the world around me.

ABOUT ME

Honest, friendly, open minded, chilled out.
I love exploring the world and learning new things, meeting new people and visiting new places.

PHILOSOPHY

Be true to yourself, follow your passions, don't be afraid to try and explore new things and take time to live outside your comfort zone! Lastly, but most importantly, be good to others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting people since the start of the year and it has been brilliant; Couchsurfing definitely helps keep the spirit of travel alive when your stuck in one place for a while.

I have never couch surfed myself but I have spent a month living with a Guatemalan family. I stayed with a farmer in Colombia who I met randomly in a pub - he invited me to spend a few days out on his farm, amazing experience. Also stayed with a family in Colombia who invited me and a friend to stay as they thought our hotel was too expensive!

Interests

Running (whenever, wherever and as much as possible)
Yoga (very much a novice but trying to learn as much as possible)
Hiking especially if it involves going up mountains and camping out in the wild.
Climbing - I haven't got past going to the local climbing centres yet,but some outdoor climbing is defintely in plan for the future
Music and gigs (Rock, Metal, Indie, folk) just listening, I can't play any instruments.
Reading - all sorts, depends on my mood
Languages, I learnt quite a bit of Spanish on a 6 month trip to Latin America, though unfortunately I don't get too much time to practice it these days

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Iron Maiden, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Black Sabbath, Opeth
Books - Down and Out in Paris and London (George Orwell), Born to Run (Christopher McDougall)
Movies - Star Wars, Withnail & I, Into the Wild, Senna,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Annapurna Circuit
6 months travelling solo from Mexico City down to Ecuador - There are probably a hundred stories in this journey I look back on as amazing (living with the locals, learning to Scuba Dive, island hopping between Panama and Colombia, standing on the highest point in Central America)
Running the Amsterdam Marathon in 2011
Hiking on the Lycian Way in Turkey
Walking across Red Square and visiting the Kremlin in Moscow

Teach, Learn, Share

Tenpin Bowling! I was National Champion in my age group when I was 12.
I also have knowledge of running and rock music!
