Overview
About Me
Grew up in Beijing, lived there through my childhood and teenager years. Went to college and spent 5 years in Nanjing. Spent a year in Ames, Iowa doing an exchange program - for those who don't know, Iowa is a state in the US. After I graduated from college, I went to Berkeley in California for grad school in 2015. Graduated in 2018 and I have been living in San Francisco ever since. I work as a landscape architect here - designing outdoor spaces for universities, hospitals, and corporates campuses. Above is my life so far in a nutshell!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was in college, I was introduced to CS by a bunch of passionate international couchsurfers at 2010's Halloween party in Nanjing.
When I got into college in China, I was just this introverted gay kid who was in the closet and didn't feel like I fitted in and that people from college around me would accept me for who I was. So I dedicated a lot of my time and energy out of college to building and growing a local CS community in those years. Almost all of my closest friends in Nanjing in my college years were from CS or through CS. CS certainly offered me a lot and was part of my life that shaped who I am today.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1 - I met Shakira one-on-one in person on 2011 New Year's Eve in Nanjing, China. I gave her my hand-made present, and greeted here with my crippled Spanish, and got autographs and photos. She gave me two kisses!!
2- In 2011, I was a mediator and organizer of the Nanjing Couchsurfing Community for a year and half when I was 19, with one of my best friend from CS: Kayley. She is getting married this year(2023) in the Netherlands. And I am traveling hopefully with the help of CS to attend her wedding! Speaking of a full circle moment!
