About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make Venezuela famous for reasons other than narcotrafficking!

ABOUT ME

The other day I calculated that this is the 9th home (in the 4th country) I have occupied in as little as 23 years. I left my family 16,000km away to be in Venezuela and do my dream job: be an adventure tours guide. Despite any level of integration you achieve there will always be a higher level of comfort with a kindred spirit so any guests to bring me a little closer to home should brighten my day.

PHILOSOPHY

You are the sum of what you bring unto others. Also, don't forget that it's easier to love than to hate; therefore hate wisely.
Give more get more - impossible is nothing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I vote for me to be the link between Venezuela and the arriving "Gringo's"

Interests

I love sports and being outdoors almost as much as I love the internet and doing business. Cooking as another passion of mine as well as reading; I devour at least a book every two weeks - the luxury to read is high up on my list of good things in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books are selfish in a way but I'm in love with these: Shantaram, Papillon & Banco, The World is Flat, The Life of Pi, The Kite Runner, Half of a yellow Sun, Angels & Demons.
Any music - the more eclectic the better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started a business with my Venezuelan business partner based on pure trust and with no contractual links and even large cultural differences as well as limited communication possibilities. Both of us were intensely interested in each others cultures and want to work through each other to get to know a whole different mind-set and expand our possibilities.

Teach, Learn, Share

I spend my days teaching people that they alone have put limitations on their physical abilities. I drag crying girls up mountains and down 3m into the sea because even some of them with 25 years of experience on this planet have still not pushed their physical and psychological limits - the city really can be too forgiving sometimes. We need to suffer and push ourselves to remember what we are capable of.
