We are a French family : Alexandre and Coralie (38), and our two daughters, Alice (8) and Noémie (6).
We have decided to live a great experience altogether and to discover the world for one year : Take-off in july 2019 ! Here are the countries where we plan to go : Equator, Colombia, Guatemala, West coast of the USA, Japan, Philippines, Birmany, Sri Lanka, South of India and Tanzania.

If our friends should describe our family, they would probably say we have a good sense of humour (always ready to laugh!), that we are reliable and friendly (always ready to help!), but also that we are open-minded and committed (always ready to learn new things, to meet new people, to participate new projects !).

As parents, we want to learn our girls to be respectful citizens of the world, and to see how beautiful and fragile is Nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2008, we first made a one year-trip, just the two of us. We had our first experience being hosted in Jodhpur (India). It was so nice to become a part of an indian family and to meet other couchsurfers, that we have decided to use as often as possible the CouchSurfing Community during our year around the world. We couchsurfed in India, in Japan, in chile, in Indonesia. in New-Zealand, and every time we we still remember all these good moments. It's for us a unique opportunity to get to know with the local "way of life" and to meet new people.
Being a family, we hope it could also be a chance for our 2 girls to meet other children, and to discover how you live.

Interests

When we came back from our first big trip, 10 years ago, we created an activity of hosting in....treehouses. We have built 5 treehouses between 5 and 12 meters high! We run this business for 7 years, and in the mid-time became parents of 2 girls. We then used to live in a tiny village in south-west of France.

In 2016, we have decided to move in a bigger city, on the west coast : La Rochelle (150 000 inhabitants), because we wanted to start a new professional activity : creating escape rooms. So, for the past 3 years, we have launched and developped new projects dedicated to this very trendy activity that are escape games. To be more specific, we were specialized in creating "escape rooms" in old French castles.

But after 3 years of creating and implementing games and riddles, we wanted to live a big family experience, and to spend more time together. Kids grow up so fast!!!

For now, we don't know what will be our new professional activity when we will come back home. But what is sure, is that it will be someting related to the environnement protection : maybe running an organic farm?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every new experience is someting exciting!

Last week-end (june 2019), all the family members of my husband gathered for a party for our grand-mother, to celebrate her 90th anniversary. We had a very good time, with all the children, grand children, great grandchildren who came from all the country for the birthday party. We dansed, shared good meals, played and talked. We were just happy to be together. It was simple and just perfect.

We also love gardening and work in a garden is always a pleasure.
