About Me
CURRENT MISSION
It is not down in any map, true places never are!
ABOUT ME
Working for an international logistics company I have my soul shipped around the globe all the time! I love to communicate with people from different countries and that's what I do at work every day, but phone, email or skype can never substitute real communication and that's why I prefer traveling to all other hobbies that I have!
I graduated from Linguistic University where I studied English, Arabic and French! My French still leaves much to be desired. Arabic is a bit better, but I still need to recollect my knowledge as I haven't had practice for more than 3 years. Polish turned out to be an easy one for me as I learnt it at work. All this gives me the most important opportunity ever - to understand and to be understood!
I'm married to the best girl on the Planet, whose name is Yulechka. We've been together since school and it's obvious that I love her more than traveling, cause she's not my hobby, she's my life! Well, most of the time we travel together, so luckily my life doesn't have to interfere with my hobby! :)
PHILOSOPHY
When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry,
show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.
It's better to regret something you have done,
than to regret something you haven't done.
Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like no one is watching.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would love to make people familiar with my country's culture, its traditions and what not while hosting them, being hosted and taking part in CS events! Currently we are "based" in California and as we are slowly getting more and more local here - it makes it easier to show people around and believe me - there's a lot around to show!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our first experience when Yulechka and I were hosting Todd from San Francisco inspired us to go deeper and deeper in it! Interests
I am trying to be good in as many kinds of sport as possible, am pretty competitive in volleyball (both beach and in-door), ultimate frisbee, basketball, soccer, tennis, ping-pong; love snowboarding, horse-riding - pretty much everything you can do on the beach, water, snow, grass... - time to try air! :)
My current goals are to learn surfing and sky-/scuba-diving.
I'm always down to go anywhere by bike, boat or just hiking - being outside and closer to the nature is all that matters!
I can enjoy absolutely silent company chilling and listening to music or watching a nice movie as well as a 33-persons party where all are chatting, debating, yelling and just having a blast!
Cooking and eating tasty and healthy food is one of my other greatest values! Yulechka and I are keen on trying out recipees from all over the world and it should be admitted that those traditional dishes that we've tastied when visiting this or that country are the ones we really succeed in.
Traveling is on top of our interests though. So far we've covered a lot of Europe, USA and Asia, but there are still so many places waiting for us that we're definitely planning to color the whole map below in red! Quite recently we've started a blog about our travels - so don't hesitate to check it out if you are interested:

Music, Movies, and Books
"1 Giant Leap" is one of my favorite movies so far and everything in it's genre definitely attracts my attention.
The music depends on my mood and what I'm doing but more often I prefer chillout, soul, disco, deep-house - something melodic and positive, am also a big fan of such eternal classics as The Beatles, Queen, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, etc... Absolutely not keen on cheap pop music though.
My favourite book is "Magic Eye" - the one with 3-d pictures! :-) Just kidding...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing things are still waiting for their turn, but to name just a few that already happened:
- found the best wife in the world (turned out that I didn't have to travel far to find her, but rather found her at home to travel far together)
- got married on one of the Thai islands
- won the US greencard in a lottery just in time when we were ready to make a huge step and move to the other side of the globe
- made this step and started a new page of life in California
As for the amazing things I've seen - there's quite too many to list, as for some reason I'm amazed by many things I see every day!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always happy to teach you any kind of sports I'm good at and learn the ones that are on my current "to-do list" - both categories are described above in the "Interests" section.
Would be glad to show you some national belarusian recipes in exchange for yours of course. :)
Sharing travel stories and pictures usually goes with no request needed - that's the way couchsurfers communicate! :)
