About Me

ABOUT ME

Hmm, how would I describe myself...

I'm quite outgoing, although I really appreciate the quiet types. I'm a total nerd and love to discuss literature and pretentiously cerebral movies, but I consistently make an ass of myself. I think these days I'm trying to collect as many experiences as I can, live as many walks of life as possible before I decide on the one I really want.

PHILOSOPHY

"Better to be imprudent movables than prudent fixtures." --Keats

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I'm just looking to go to coffee and to help visitors get a little slice of Vermont.

Interests

Hiking, but not too intensively. Science + society. Music and musicians. A good conversation about a good book. The occasional film.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Lots of rock (classic, Indie, all kinds), Jazz, Latin, hip-hop, classical. Kind of a wannabe indie kid, but my favorite band of all time: Rolling Stones. Definitely open to recommendations as well.

Movies: Slightly divided taste of those weird cerebral dramas that make you think (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I Heart Huckabees, Crash) and foreign, also really stupid movies (Anchorman, 40 Year Old Virgin, etc.).

Books: Wow, way too many to name. PROUST. Favorites include dis-utopian literature (A Clockwork Orange, Brave New World, 1984), 19th Century Russian literature (Gogol, Dostoevsky), modern mind-bending surrealist novels (Hakuri Murakami).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went paragliding in Lima, which requires you to jump off the cliff.

Galapagos.
