Overview
About Me
I'm 50% nature person/ 50% city person (so basically I love cities just as I much as I love getting as far away from them as humanly possible). I am an open-minded person who is dedicated to living the best life I can even if the way it isn't always the most conventional (i.e. "normal").
300% animal person (100% is just not accurate enough, trust me) so if you have pets, I WILL be very excited by them.
I live in Philadelphia, PA, where I used to work as a professional tour guide. Now I have a "boring office job", which isn't actually boring thankfully. I work for a very historic theatre here.
I started travelling in 2014 when I studied in Melbourne, Australia for a semester. Traveled whenever I could after that. Then I moved to Dublin in 2017 and travelled around Europe. I've found that I love the experience of living in new places, so even when I travel my goal is the get the best feeling I can of what a place is really like. Not that possible to achieve, but I like seeing cities through the eyes of a local/ like a local. If it were not for my travels/ lives abroad I would not be who I am now and I am very proud of that.
Also kind if important to mention that I don't drink because it's kind of an expectation to get drinks when meeting new people. I don't like being 'lame' it's just the way I live my life. I still am happy to go out to bars and pubs. :)
I use this website for meetups/ events more than anything, as hosting is not currently an option for me. I live with roommates because I can't afford my own place. One day though! I can't wait to give others similar experiences that I was given by the amazing hosts of CS! :)
Very happy to help you put together an itinerary for Philly if you shoot me a message. ✌
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's the best way to meet open-minded, like minded-people from all over the world. It's because of this website that I've made friends with many other expats living in Dublin, that I've had more relaxing travel experiences, that I've gotten to watch people fall in love with my city the same way I did, and that I've learned about so many peoples and cultures and ways of life. I am so thankful for those experiences. I am thankful for all the wonderful people I never would have met if it wasn't for this site!
Interests
Nature, animals, theatre and the arts in general, hiking, learning about anything, really...
I've been told by a number of people that the things that excite me are random and unpredictable. To be honest I'm interested in most things. I'm interested even in the things I'm not interested in. I don't know if that makes sense and makes we a weird person. But I love hearing people talk about the things they are interested in, and more importantly, why.
I have been teaching myself a lot about how wasteful our society and how to reduce my carbon footprint by buying less, avoiding single use plastic, etc. I am not completely zero waste, but I am taking steps towards it that I am really proud of.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of alternative music (pop punk, indie, experimental, post-rock...)
Favorite movies are The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind and Howl's Moving Castle
Love tons of TV series like The Good Place, Sense8, Dead to Me, Stranger Things, Umbrella Academy, Doctor Who & plenty of cartoons
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef. I swam with a wild greenback turtle!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always happy to talk about American politics, vegetarianism, environment issues.
I am not the best cook, but I am learning to like it. Vegetarian dishes don't have to be bland! I have no clue why no one believes me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would like to share my own culture (and help people understand it - because Americans seem crazy to the rest of the world at times), and be able provide a similar experience to my host as I'd hope they'd provide for me. I could talk about my travel experiences all day and make loads of recommendations. I'm a very interested person, so I love hearing/ learning about new things, and having interesting conversations.
Happy to cook as well. Like I said, not the best but learning. 😊
