I am currently based in Indonesia on a marketing and diving internship, looking after the marketing for a dive shop in exchange for my dive master qualification. Prior to this I have been travelling around South East Asia since January 2017 and it has been the most wonderful year.

I am a very honest, open minded and caring person, I am always the one that my friends turn to when they need some advice although I find it hard to take my own advice most of the time! Over the last few years I have spent a lot of time focusing on positivity and working towards living a life that makes me happy, and this has taken me through a lot of ups and downs but because of this journey, I am a much happier and hopeful person than I have ever been. I am very grateful for what I have.

I love to travel and explore new places, try new foods and experience different cultures. I enjoy hanging out with friends and having a good time but I am by no means a crazy party animal, preferring watching sunset and a bonfire to raving it up all night. I am not sure what I want to do for the rest of my life but I am enjoying trying to figure it out at the moment!

I studied Fine Art and then fell into marketing, working for an agency in London for a few years before travelling. I loved London but I did not enjoy the high pressure environment and after a few lifes too short events in my life I decided to follow the dream I'd had since I was 16, to travel. Luckily I'd been saving for enarly 10 years for this so I could get going straight away. I really do believe that experiences and connections are so much more important than possessions and professions.

I think that the best part about travelling is meeting new people and my most memorable experiences have been when I have been shown around by someone who lives in that place, and couch surfing provides the opportunity to do more of this. I'd also like the opportunity to be able to return the favour at some point in the future.

My music taste is really varied, I enjoy a little bit of everything but if I really had to pick a genre it would be rock music and I love a good live band.

I am a bit of a cliche when it comes to books, I love books that are set in exotic places. A few of my favourites include Papillion, Shantaram, The Alchemist, Half of a Yellow Sun, Marching Powder, The Beach, Eat Pray Love. I also dip into a lot of personal development books, a favourite of mine at the moment is The Universe has your Back.

Movie wise, I haven't really watched much over the last year whilst I have been travelling but a few I have enjoyed recently are Lion, Mike and Dave need wedding dates, Life of Pi, Bad Grandpa.

I have spent the last 8 months solo backpacking around South East Asia which has given me the opportunity to do many amazing things from snorkelling with whale sharks to climbing volcanoes, watching the sunrise over the temples of Bagan to sharing a meal with an Iban tribe, but the one amazing thing about my travels was the incredible people I met along the way.
