Music, Movies, and Books
I like silent movies, classic films, foreign, masterpiece theatre BBC, Showtime and HBO shows.
Classical, blues, jazz, Arabic and '60's music.
Read Mark Twain's An Innocent Abroad (world travel's beginnings!), Ted Turner's autobiography and e.e.cumming's The Enormous Room recently. Love the New Yorker and Harpers magazines. And reports from Earthjustice, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Ocean Conservancy, ad infinitum. Since travelling read Sons and Lover's The Forsythe Saga Scaramouche short story collections...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Aruba, for sitting through a time-share sales pitch, I got to snorkel from a boat above wrecks from World War Two. They served fruit and alcohol, I got seasick, and vomited the fruit while I was in the water. I was immediately surrounded by feeding fish, and then a seagull swooped down and flew away with its meal! I never knew fish ate fruit!
I had the pleasure of collaborating on a play with my late husband Jack Ross, "Mice in the Theatre" about running an off Broadway theatre in the West Village of Manhattan in the late '80's.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy interviewing and shooting video for public access TV, filming demonstrations on the environment. My sister Amy Abercrombie made a full-length feature based on our grandmother's unpublished novel, which my sister published and thought it would make a fine film and who else would do it? You can see the trailer of theotherhousethemovie on Utube I believe. I have a copy of THE OTHER HOUSE to share. I strive to follow her example, and lessen my carbon imprint. Hope to aquire an electric car after my travels.
