About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the most of my last few weeks in Australia, meet genuine people and see beautiful sights
ABOUT ME
If you asked my best friends about me, they would say that I am loyal, responsible, and honest. I am a very good listener and I enjoy helping my friends whenever possible. My friends and I love to have fun wherever we go; we are constantly meeting new people and engaging in conversations with whomever we encounter! I think that they would describe me as friendly, easy going, and personable.
PHILOSOPHY
Hakuna Matata, "no worries"
Interests
Most of the time I am busy with work, school and spending time with my friends and family. However, in my downtime I enjoy reading, cooking, and writing. I love to travel and would like to see as much of the world as I possibly can. I was a varsity swimmer throughout high school and have been a lifeguard for six years. I love the water, especially the beach. I have recently become interested in surfing and, although I am terrible at it, I find it very fun! I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, boating and snowboarding in the winter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things moments of my life was leaving to move to Australia. I have never been away from my parents for an extended amount of time, so it was very hard to say goodbye to them. However, for the first time in my life I felt completely independent. It was such an incredible feeling coming to such a beautiful country on my own. I will never forget the car ride from the airport; looking at Australia for the first time and realizing that this was my home for the next four months was so surreal.
Another incredible moment in my life was when I made my first rescue. Frequently, I am told how easy my job is and how lucky I am to work as a lifeguard. Although a lot of my job entails sitting on a beach in the sunshine (which I do enjoy!) it is very incredible to think that if I don't perform my duties, or even become sidetracked for a second, lives are at stake. My first rescue was a little boy who could not swim and fell off of a tube in the deep end. When I pulled him to the shore and his mother thanked me, I was shaking for hours. It was an overwhelming feeling realizing that I had saved that boys life and it made me feel so honored to be a lifeguard.
