About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Expand my mental photo album of cultural smiles...or something like that :)

ABOUT ME

Physically speaking, I'm female, tall, blond with blue eyes. My personality is outgoing, but genuine, however, I've been known to talk too much. I love to converse and meet new people, and tend to be overly generous (especially with the use of my car). I am always curious, but also laid back and non-judgmental (at least I try). I love to learn about different cultures, and especially other languages.

PHILOSOPHY

complete honesty

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Interests

My two focuses in life are music and science. In addition to a graduate student at Cornell University where I study plant pathology, I am also a professional violinist. However, these days most of my extracurricular time is spent dancing tango. I love the outdoors, including gardening, hiking, camping, boating, and rock-climbing and will always be up for an adventure, even if it means getting dirty.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen; Brahms Clarinet Quintet; The Great Gatsby

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. A two-week boat trip down the Amazon River in Brazil with only a hammock to sleep in.
2. Presenting my field research findings to a small community of subsistence farmers in Brazil.
3. Hour long photo-shoot with a pack of spider monkeys on Barro Colorado Island in the Panama Canal.

Teach, Learn, Share

i want to learn languages. maybe that's my real mission...how many can i collect in my lifetime?

i have to offer: well, i'll tell you about my research until your ear falls off (that is, plant-fungal interactions), but i can also give you a violin lesson, or teach you some tango and salsa.
