About Me

Hi, I'm Alexa! I'm a law student from the Philippines. I'm ecstatic about making new friends from all around the world. I live in the city but my heart is in the mountains. My hometown in the Philippines is a province up north called Ifugao, where indigenous culture is still thriving and magnificent, centuries-old rice terraces abound. That is the culture I wish to share with the people I meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Back in 2016, I had an opportunity to study in France. There, I met a lot of friends whom I still keep in touch and meet up with when I get the chance. Some of these great young people from parts of the EU invited me to their homes to spend breaks with their families. I was extremely grateful for those opportunities to immerse in their culture, try out their food and have a taste of their daily lives.

I'm on Couchsurfing precisely because I enjoyed that kind of traveling experience, -- tourist sights are but secondary to the friends I make along the way :) Currently, I am unable to host because of my living arrangements, but once I get a place of my own I will be more than happy to share it with my fellow wayfarers.

Interests

I believe cycling or running the best way to explore a new place. I take regular hiking trips with my family and friends. I also love engaging in conversations about history and current events. And, as long as I have my ukulele with me, expect a fun jamming session!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once enjoyed a homemade sandwich on top of a cliff in Normandy, France, overlooking the English Channel. It was a thrilling experience, knowing how historically rich the place is with WW2 and Claude Monet's paintings.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I absolutely love cooking! I can teach you how to cook a nice Filipino meal. I could also teach you some ukulele basics!
