About Me
Hi! I'm a second year undergraduate Computer Science student studying at the University of Oxford, as a member of Keble College. Also married to my lovely wife :)
I'm passionate about learning, and I think that the only way that we're going to be able to create a better future for our world is by people taking charge and teaching themselves what is fact and what is fiction, and learning how to independently think. I think that the best way we have for breaking down barriers between cultures is through physical discussions and our voices - so travel helps as well there, but not the 'tourist', visiting-all-the-monuments-in-a-city-kind, but actually learning about culture and how people live differently, even if it surprises you or seems weird!
I love debating and talking about politics and philosophy, especially with people who have opposing viewpoints or were brought up in a different culture or way! I am always respectful of other people's views and never try to force mine onto others. I study formal logic amongst other things and I've read books on philosophy, and I'm keen to share what I know.
I volunteer a lot, normally with helping younger children learn more about Maths, Computer Science, or philosophy/debating. I'm planning to expand this further next year and try to get more involved.
I am in a long-term relationship with my American partner, who I've been with for over 4 years :)
{Surfing}
In the summer I will be interrailing around Europe, spending over a month on the mainland and seeing 8 different countries! I will be trying to sample as many countries as possible and spending around 4 nights in each place. If you could host me I'd be greatly appreciative as I want to get a really good feel for what each place and country I visit is like, and I want to know all the little secrets of the places I visit :) I will also be working on the road (doing online tutoring) so if possible I would appreciate it if you could offer a quiet place to work, for maybe an hour a day at most.
{Hosting}
-Can't host again until mid-October, when the new academic year starts-
I live in student accommodation in my college, in a room with a nice view of one of my college's interior quads. In my room is a fairly long sofa which I'm willing to let people sleep on for up to 3 nights (maximum my college allows for guests). There isn't much in terms of cooking tools unfortunately other than a kettle and microwave that I have in my room, but I'm happy to make you tea and point you to where you can get food in Oxford! If you want I can also make you something simple using my microwave, like rice and beans, but there's only so much I can do with a microwave :P
If you want to see the attractions of Oxford, museums etc, this is a really good spot - you won't have to pay for any public transport!
Keep in mind I have lectures and it is only 1 room, but if you want to just use it as a place to sleep and maybe have a cup of tea and chat that is fine :) I can give you a pillow but not any sheets, also you will need to leave the college when I am out of the room (e.g. at lectures) as otherwise you will be trapped inside.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to learn more about different people, cultures and viewpoints, especially those which are different to or challenge my own, so that I can broaden my horizons and think more about what I do in life.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) series of films, I only got into them recently but currently I'm working my way through them! I've also read all of the Harry Potter books. In terms of music I like to listen to mostly rock music and some more pop-y types of songs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I organised food collections and worked to help the homeless when I was in secondary school
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share with you stories of me growing up in the UK, what school was like, what it's like to be a kid in Britain, etc
I can also share with you my knowledge about computer science and philosophy, whether you want to debate, talk about philosophical topics, or discuss things like artificial intelligence and robots :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy having cultural (and political if they want) discussions with people from other nations and cultures. A large number of the people at my university are international students and talking with them about their experiences and how it contrasts to mine in England is a great experience! I'm willing to tell people about my experiences growing up in the UK and answer any questions they have :)
