Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There is really only one way to educate yourself in my opinion, and that is by direct experience. There is also only one way to get direct experience, and that is through real people connecting to each other.

I used Couchsurfing in Norway and it not only helped keep me from sleeping on the streets in early April, but helped me get to know the people who I lived with for a summer and will be going back to see whenever I can for the rest of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of culture from thick old classic books that smell like bookshops & symphonies at the theatre to bassy club music and square dancing. We can talk about mid century architecture or we can talk about fine French cuisine. I love long serious arthouse films as much as irreverent YouTube videos. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer rather than have my sisters and I sit around for months my mother and father planned a month long trip out west in America. Hotel rooms, highways, and our minivan were our home for almost 40 days as we saw dozens of National Parks. We meet some of the most down to earth people and saw some of the most breathtakingly beautiful sights that America has to offer. The North American continent is a natural wonder covered with a quilt of the most interesting and diverse peoples.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I can get my hands on information about it then I consume as much as I possibly can. I love to read, watch, and do as much as possible. I have read about everything from quantum physics to beekeeping. The only thing left is to try them. I want to see and do as much as I possibly can and I know that doing it with other people and sharing what I already know along the road is the best way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a fairly good conversationalist, I can (and love) to cook, and I make a great cup of coffee. I can use tools and love to help fix up anything I can. Other than that I am open to try anything at least once. I also don't even need a couch. All I need is space on the floor, and space in your home.
