Helloooo everyone! Nice to meet you, well we haven't met yet, but maybe that's about to change!

Where should I start introducing my self? Well, as you can see, my name is Alexander, I'm a 21-years old Belgian guy, studying Tourism management in the picturesque town of Bruges, also known as 'Venice of the North'. But currently I'm on a Erasmus project, so I swapped the rather rainy Belgium for the sunny city of Palma de Mallorca just for this semester. And I'm ab-so-lu-tely loving it! This is such a great experience, making friends for a lifetime, discovering the beautiful Island with its hidden beaches, beautiful people...

So now, more about my character, which might be interesting if you will spend some time with me: usually I'm a very enthousiastic, happy and energetic person who loves meating new people and travelling of course. I'm outgoing and really eager to learn and try new things. There's so much to discover in this world, so many strange habbits, so many hidden bars, so many beautiful places and so many great people.

So briefly said, I'm the guy who loves to try new stuff, who adores travelling around and discovering new places/cultures ... And I'm very keen on discovering new bars and pubs to have a nice chat with a local and a local drink!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So that brings me to the reason why I made this couchsurf profile!

01 january 2016: new year, new challenge! This year it was time to join the couchsurf community!
As I already said, I've a certain urge to meet new people and have an unespected crazy time with them! Just getting to know people from all over the world with different stories, other points of views, living in their own culture... I cannot wait to meet those fantastic people here on this forum. And in return I'll promise to be a nice to you and share my stories and 'wisdoms' haha ;)

So please let's have a great time together, by doing something crazy or by having a nice converstion (with a drink) while laying in the grass of a great park or sitting on a rock of a mountain, or chilling in a natural pool...

Interests

Being amazed by the world's beauty! Morever, I guess my main interests are tennis and travelling!

Although I've never practiced tennis in a club, I'm a huuuge fan of tennis, getting up at night to watch a tennis match has happend before. Besides tennis I really enjoy playing sports as basketball, handball, (beach) volleyball, hockey, frisbee...

Besides that I LOVE travelling so much and there are still a billion places I want to visit and where I want to travel to. I won't sum up here the list of all the places/countries I still want to visit, because it's way to long, but I'll gladly talk about that with you! Whenever I travel I feel enriched and genuinely happy. This world has so much to offer us.

Now I'm also getting into cooking, god bless the internet with so many great recipes but also all the different people who learnt me to make some local dishes!

Both culture and nature catch my attention! Nothing is more stunning and breathtaking than a great nature scenery. The nature can be so ruthless, yet so peaceful. Besides, I also can have such satisfaction of walking through a city with its own cultural background, its own architecture and its art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Catching every opportunity I get! Get out of your comfort zone, even on a what might seem just a normal day at home.

- Voluntary work, as in restoring houses of a leper colony, in India : this is definitely one of my most intens experiences I've ever had.
- hiking in the beginning of the Himalayas
- being on Erasmus in Mallorca (one of the Balearic Islands)
- just laying on the beach by night and philosophize about life
- working 2 months on a campsite in the Côte d'Azur (South of France)
