I am former teacher and museum educator who followed my passion for conservation and the environment to a job in Malawi, Central Africa working at the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. I work in communications and audience development, messaging the work of the park to the public through programs and interpretation. I am a writer and freelance communications specialist with a focus in non-profit, education, and the sciences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been working in Malawi for the past year and my contract ends in Sep. 2019.

I will be traveling back to the U.S. via northern Africa, Turkey, Europe and the UK.

Life as an environmental educator and conservationist is wonderful (though not lucrative) so I'm hoping to supplement my travels with the kindness of couches!

Interests

I am fascinated by the relationship between people and place. The way the natural and cultural landscapes interplay, how place affects us and how we affect place. This fascination encompasses art, museums, history, nature, ecology, and the interplay between them all. Personally, I am an easy going, kind, and considerate person fascinated by people's stories, their culture and of course their food.
