About Me

Hello dear fellow and welcome to my profile!

I am father of three lovely kids and husband of a wonderful wife. My passions are quite diverse and I am always enthusiastic developing new perspectives and knowledge - that's why I like Couchsurfing so much! My main interests: philosophy, music, literature, traveling. I really love to cook (I am vegan💚) and learn about meals and flavors from cultures all over the world.

I made the best experiences with Couchsurfing on my big journey 20/21. It's the most interesting and pleasuring way of travelling in my eyes. Last autumn I had finally the opportunity to welcome guests at my own home in the beautiful city of Vienna and made new friends!

Regarding traveling plans: I am dreaming of a big journey to India to discover this wonderful country from the South to the North! Indian cuisine is my absolute favorite from all I know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first experience with couchsurfing was very special: I had to find a flat in Bayreuth (Germany) very quickly. Via CS I found super friendly and helpful people sharing an apartment and spent a great time with them for more than a month.

In 2020 I went on a big journey to South East Asia together with my wife and two young sons, using Couchsurfing for the first time as a family. It was... soooo amazing! We built friendships on a long term base, staying connected with all the wonderful people who hosted us and cared so much about us. ❤️ One of our Singaporean hosts and good friend visited us even in Vienna last year, which was a huge pleasure (and I visited her in Singapore again)!

So what I love about couchsurfing is: To get in contact with the locals. If I visit a country I reach out for making new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: There are too much, but my personal highlights are films by Akira Kurosawa, Luis Bunuel, Andrej Tarkowskij and Ingmar Bergman.

Books: Some of my favorite authors of prose are Stefan Zweig and Stanislaw Lem. I love books since my childhood and can't imagine a life without the passion of reading books. Reading a book for me is like meeting the most interesting persons of other times, countries and cultures, seeing the world through the eyes of another fascinating human being. I am very much into philosophy (esp. Kant, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Hume, Plato) ans also love dramatic literature (e.g. Calderon, Schiller) and so much more...

Music: I love and play the music of J.S. Bach (I love to play his organ works), Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Strauss, Wagner, Schumann, Schostakowitsch, Prokofjew, Strawinskij and so many others.

My life is very much about music, I write and arrange music for my own, I play music, I work with musicians...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Couchsurfing ;-) Seriously: I really wouldn´t want to miss the great experiences I made with it!
