ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Venezuela, All my life I studied in an international school in Caracas. There I learned about many different cultures and about the importance of respect and global citizenship.

My vocation is education having earned a degree in pedagogical sciences. I have been teaching all grade levels for the last 10 years and I am currently working as an Independent Educational Consultant for Venezuelan students who want to go study abroad.

I can list some traits that I believe you can find in me: Friendly, open-minded, respectful, considerate, amiable, funny, flexible, understanding, helpful, risk-taker and have a cheerful disposition.

I am 29 and don't want to turn 30!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not yet participated. I am very new. I see that I can participate in event posted in my city. Maybe that will be my first experience of meeting couchsurfers.

Interests

My ultimate hobby right now is skydiving. I currently have more than 450 jumps. Ever since I began skydiving I can say that it has helped me grow as a person. Jumping from a perfectly good airplane gives you a sense of confidence that nothing else can give you. The skydiving community of full of different types of people who share an activity in common and it unites people around the world!

I also play the piano. I grew up in a house in Caracas where every Sunday my dad would rehearse with this Jazz and Latin-Jazz band. They are still playing together it has been over 22 years. They are really good. Having grown up in such a musical environment it was obvious that I would also play an instrument. I have always played the piano as a hobby and for a couple of years I tried the alto sax and the clarinet.

I used to have an awesome Ska-Punk-Dub Band in Caracas. It was an underground band which made a little scene and had its place playing at many different clubs in Caracas for about 10 years. We released one official studio recording. It was a great time!

I also enjoy education. Teaching is a passion that I have and knowing that I can contribute with the education of young people gives meaning to my life!

I also like going partying, tasting beer and eating good food.

I am very open about music. I can say that my favorite types include, Rock, Jazz, Reggae, electronic music, Salsa, Hip-Hop, Indie, Punk and Funk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped over 450 times from a perfectly good airplane
Jumped 6 times from a Hot Air Balloon
Flown over 2 hours in a Wind Tunnel (freefall Simulator)
I have visited Los Roques in Venezuela several times. AMAZING!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I have skills for teaching. Honestly my strengths as a teacher is in building rapport with the students. Having people respect me for who I am, not for being the authority figure. I can create an environment in my classroom where people feel motivated to learn and that is essential to be successful in achieving your objectives.

I can help people practice their Spanish skills.

I want to learn more about different cultures, I am a big food person and have a knack for cooking, but I certainly would like to work on it a lot.

I could also share skydiving and flying with any couchsurfers that enjoy jumping like I do. I enjoy free-flying and angle flights!
