About Me

Canadian student just starting grad school in Switzerland for Biomedical Engineering. I'm pretty relaxed, but always down for an adventure or two. Spent the last five years in Vancouver for my undergrad, with a healthy dose of skiing, hiking and climbing thrown in, and hoping to keep a similar mix of hobbies in Zurich. I also love photography and music, and play guitar any chance I get (don't ask me to sing though, trust me, it's for the best). Looking forward to new adventures in new places with cool people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is an experience, and having the opportunity to learn and share in that experience with others is pretty exciting. Being new to this whole "Europe" thing, I'm pretty keen on travelling and meeting with other people, but would also in time like to pass on my own experience to others beginning their journey, and think Couchsurfing is a great way to do just that.

Music, Movies, and Books

In a few words:

Music Taste: Eclectic, but not strained. Recently been into Okkervil River, The Hotelier, Flying Lotus, and Mount Kimbie. Also weirdly like 90s to mid 2000s hard rock and grunge, and also classical pieces.
Movies: Anything honestly, but not too keen on them in general
Books: Classics, and good portfolios. More into short stories, and really like some magazines, like Alpinist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 16 months working in neutrino physics, figuring out how to more accurately characterize sensors that detect individual photons! Not that relevant on a day to day basis but feel free to pick my brain about it, lots of cool stuff goes on in particle physics that people are super unaware of

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spent 15 years playing guitar and am more than happy to share what I've learned, maybe make some music along the way! In exchange, any tips on learning Swiss German would be greatly appreciated!
