About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming the best me that I can be each day.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Alexander but you can call me Leo (my lastname) or Alex. I created this profile years ago but never used couchsurfing before but I want to get started now. In the last couple of years my passion for traveling has really exploded. Because of my job and current study (economics) I'm able to travel a lot and this and I take full advantage of it. So I want to travel so much I possible can before graduating my master in 2021.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been accommodated once at a family in the US when last year (2018) by accident and fully enjoyed this experience! This allows me to learn more about the culture in a better way and to get the pro tips by locals. I want to do this more and more and that's why couchsurfing is perfect. I used to book fancy hotels and sometimes be in the room for a whole day, I want to change this. By meeting and sleeping at locals I can learn more. Learn something about the country but even more get to learn these humans.

I love to hear stories. I don't care if the story is told by 20 or 80 old person. I tend to like the stories by the hold people because they have experienced so much more and I get fascinated by this life experiences.

If you visit little Denmark and our lovely capital Copenhagen I will be happy to host you. My apartment is located in the central Copenhagen and have plenty of room. Copenhagen has a lot of stories to be told that I have been told by my parents and some that I have discovered myself. The weather may not be good but the people, city and food is fantastic! But I cannot promise I will be out of country - probably traveling around the world.

Interests

I big part for me while traveling is to taste the local food. Before I even book a trip to a new country I always binge watch food videos from the country. Creating a long list of places I want to visit during my trip and prioritize to eat calm and do not rush while eating.

So all this eating generates a certain problem. In order not to put too many kilos in weight, I like to run long trips. By the ocean, a lake or in the urban. I have found this way bu running across a city to work really well. I sometimes see stuff I would not have seen. And its cool to watch all my routes in the different countries I've visited in my Garmin app.

Another passion is photography. If you ask my friends I can sometimes focus a bit too much on taking photos. I typically have between 500-1000 photos back home from a trip depending on the time. I like to immortalize the moments and to look at the pictures months or years after I got back home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Beside traveling I must admit watching movies and reading books is my favorite. I'am properly in the top 1% on earth in how many days (not hours) I been watching movies. I'm really a sucker for all the marvel movies but also the batman trilogy, lord of the rings and the hobbit. Besides that I also love romantic movies and comics - well I just love movies. And I tend to cry a little if something beautiful happens in a movie.

Because of my interest in economics I read a lot of books regarding the global market, such as crises, stocks, statistics and companies. So I'm down to talk finance stuff if you are! I also like to read books like "Declutter Your Mind: How to Stop Worrying, Relieve Anxiety, and Eliminate Negative Thinking" and "Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World".

But I must admit my favorite books is "Factfulness" by Hans Rosling. This really changed my mind! The world is much better than you think and the livingstandards have been generally increasing across the world during the last 50 years. This is a must read :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've created two succesfull companies before turning 21.

Started traveling more and have visited more countries than my parents. This is not a goal by itself but more that I have been exploring the world while being an introvert. I feel being an introvert sometimes stop you for doing what you want but this has changed over time for me and I'm definitely becoming better.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always open to learn something new. In facts I seek to learn some new skills every year.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell a lot of funny stories, cook a dinner for you and talk serious if the connection between us is good. I'm the invisible guest. I want to get to know you better and hopefully learn some of the language.
