Hi! My name is Alex and I’m a really outgoing and fun guy who loves to meet people and have a fun time in new and exciting places! I’m originally from Ketchikan, Alaska but I’ve lived in California, Boston, and Oregon most recently where I was working on a fishing boat in Alaska for the summer salmon season - now I’m enjoying the off-season traveling the east coast visiting friends and family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to look on couchsurfing because to me it seems the best way to get immersed in the local culture wherever i decide to travel! I like to think of it as staying at your friends place, but you just haven’t become friends yet! Also the affordability is certainly a huge bonus, that would allow me to spend more money of my budget on more fun and unique things like meals and experiences around town.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve been fortunate to have done things in my life i will always be proud of, but i think my greatest accomplishment was backpacking New Zealand and Thailand with my sister 2 years ago. It was my first experience backpacking and it was during that journey that I realized this is what i wanted to do when i graduated university.. and now here we are :)

I think the most amazing part of life is hearing the stories of others, while we are all from different parts of the world everyone has such a unique story of how they became who they are now and what makes them themselves. I love to learn about others and learn what life is like in these places I’ve never been before
