My name is Alex, I am 23 years old and I currently study East Asian Studies. Before that I studied Maths - to no avail ;)
I like to think of myself as mostly relaxed and calm. Some times I tell stories that only I seem to find funny, but at least somebody is laughing, right? Most of the time I take stressful situations with humour, wich makes modern life a lot easier for me.
Generally though I'm into science, facts and books. I like to learn stuff and watch myself become more knowledgable each passing year.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Money is bad, mhkay. So one thing is that couchsurfing tends to be a lot cheaper than staying in hotels or hostels. The main argument though ist that one is so much closer to actual people from the locations one visits, which is great. After all, I don't choose the countries I travel just by chance (mostly). I like to engage with people I don't know yet, get to know their every day life, learn from others and maybe share one or the other wisdom of my own.

Intereses

I've been into analogue photography for some time and just recently bought a decent digital camera, but I'm not a great photographer - yet! :D
I also design posters, mostly satires of existing posters.
I'm a deeply political person and I like to discuss what's happening in the world.
Other than that, I enjoy interesting architecture, battle rap and eating good food. I'm not a great cook, but I did work in a kitchen before, so at least I know how to use a knife.
Also drinking. I enjoy being in a nice bar or at the kitchen table a lot more than going out partying and dancing.

Música, películas y libros

Wherever I go I carry some kind of book to read while riding trains etc. While it's mostly non-ficiton I read, I like science-fiction by former eastern bloc authors (Lem, Strugatsky, Belayev ). They just imagined a more magical future for mankind than what today's sci-fi develops.

The music I listen to depends greatly on the situation I'm in. Generally though I like Stoner Rock, HC Punk, HipHop, and Funk as well as more calm music such as Indie and Krautrock, Jazz and melodic pop music.

I'm not that much into films, I find it hard to just sit there, stay quiet for long periods of time and focus. There is a famous German crime serial I enjoy watching from time to time though.
