Hi, my name is Alex. I´m originally from Riga, Latvia and since 2009 I live in Germany. After graduating school in Hamburg I lived in Cologne, Lübeck, St. Petersburg, Kyiv and recently ended up in Leipzig.
I am currently finishing my masters in Architecture in Leipzig and I work at a scientific research team of our university. Unfortunately I did not use couchsurfing to host anyone yet so the account is not verified. But if it helps to build up trust - I can verify myself to you personally by showing you my ID on request.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that our world is a nice place to explore and to be at. I have used couchsurfing once in a while in Colonge, in Lviv and even in Riga and mostly had very good experience. I also used couchsurfing hangouts to meet new people and hang out :)
Interests
Photography, Music, Riding BMX , Bicycle Touring, Running, Travelling & camping.
Bmx became a part of my life since I was a kid. I still try to affect the culture by organizing events or contests and love meeting riders from all over the world. This is a hobby that is always there for me and lead me to many interesting friendships and adventures.
I also love hitting the road with my fixed gear bike. I have travelled to many small towns around Hamburg, have beed on a trip to Flensburg and even organized a school project in which my friends and me rode through the whole Denmark to Copenhagen and also stayed there for a couple of days.
I have been running since the start of the middle school and always participated at local cross country runs. I won some of them so I started to bulid myself up and run regulary. I created an aim to run a Marathon and achieved it after I turned 18. It was the longest run I have ever done and way carzy about getting it done. Since then I just run for fun and sometimes take part in local competitions.
I started boxing even before I moved to Germany. This sport helps me to raise my reflexes, confidence and to let the energy out the other day :)

There is always room for new tunes to explore! Feel free to share your favourite music with me
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- run a marathon with 3:17:50 when I was 18
- hichhiked from Kyiv to the Carpathian Mountains, hiked there and went to Odesa afterwards
- the tour I am doing right now is amazig since I never went that far before
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook yummy meals, how to do bicycle tricks and tell you unbelievable stories - believe it or not!
Since I study Architecture I can tell you a lot about it and maybe do a small crash course through the Art history.
I occasionally DJ since 2018 and could show you my way of mixing tracks and playing sets :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer you a nice person to hang out with and help you with any household duties as well as cooking or cleaning :)
I can also do some photoshootings, since I am into photography and slightly getting more professional with it.
